Count down to a date, or run a simple timer.
How to use the countdown
Choose Countdown to a Date, pick an event name (optional) and a target date and time, then watch the days, hours, minutes, and seconds tick down. Quick presets start you in one tap — +1 hour, +1 day, +1 week, +30 days, New Year, or Christmas.
How to use the simple timer
Switch to the Timer tab, set hours, minutes, and seconds (or tap 1 / 5 / 10 / 25 min), and press Start. The ring fills as time runs down; press Pause or Reset any time. When it finishes you'll hear a short beep and see a time's-up message.
Ideas
- Count down to exams, product launches, holidays, or trip dates.
- Use the 25-minute preset for a Pomodoro-style focus session.
- Use a countdown on a second screen as a visual deadline during meetings.
How does the countdown timer work?
Pick a target date and time (or use a quick preset), and the timer shows days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining until that moment, updated every second.
Can I count down to any specific date?
Yes. Use the date and time picker, or tap a preset such as +1 hour, +1 day, +1 week, +30 days, New Year, or Christmas.
What is the difference between the countdown and the timer?
The countdown targets a calendar date. The timer simply counts down a duration you set (hours, minutes, seconds) with presets like 1, 5, 10, and 25 minutes.
Is there an alert when the timer finishes?
Yes — the timer plays a short sound and shows a time's-up message. Sound requires an audio-enabled browser and a page interaction.
Does the countdown keep running if I close the page?
No. The countdown runs while the page is open. For alerts while the tab is in the background, keep the timer page open.
